Farmer's managing system
A final project in UX design studies
A managing system that allows farmers to manage all their needs for their plantations: fertilizing, keeping track of workers, plants health, long and short term plant treatments etc. After research, the programs that were in the market at the time were only for desktop and did not allow real-time updating while working in the field.
Research
The research checked the current tracking methods of the farmers, their needs, the size of the plantations and if they have other people that do some of the parameter trackings. In personal interviews I tried to understand the flow of work and reports, other features that may be helpful (such us worker attendance and hours log) and study the way the farmers enter data with their current tracking method.
User Personas
The research showed two main user personas: the “lone farmer”, managing more than one lot, and have to manage it alone, and the “business farmer”, that is not always present in the plantations and requires tracking from far to make decisions.
Wireframes & User Trial
The first screen of the app is a dashboard, designed to give a quick overview: the rain statistics from the last day (giving the farmer the ability to decide how much irrigation is needed), notifications, and current condition in every lot.
The main menu includes Treatments, Crops, Workers area, an area for managing the different Lots and reminders and alerts area.
